Kori's Fall

The nurse at the school brought her into my room saying that she had fallen off one of the monkey bars and she thought it might be broken. So I brought her to the E.R. She was very brave. :) The Dr. Said it was too swollen to see if there is a fracture or not, but he said that there is a fat pocket??? present in her elbow and that's what they find when there is a fracture. They put a splint on her entire are and wrapped it up and put it in a sling. He is sending her to the orthopedic tomorrow to get more X-rays once the swelling has gone down. I will know more tomorrow. I have always said that my little Kori was a diva. Case in point....When the Dr. took out the sling it had babyish dinosaurs on it. Kori made a face. When he told her that she had to wear that until she saw the orthopedist she started yelling at him... yes I mean yelling... "That is ridiculous looking. I am not wearing that to school. If you want me to wear one of those you’re going to have to find one with out dinosaurs on it. The Dr. was in shock and I was completely embarrassed. Needless to say, she is wearing the dinosaur sling and she is not happy about it.
I an hoping it is not completely broken, because it will require a cast on her entire arm, as it is broken at the elbow. I am hoping for the best.

Be Thankful

This Friday at Bobby's football game, a player on the opposing team got hurt. We see this often during games and usually the player needs a little care and walks himself off the field. Not this player. He broke his neck and is facing the possibility of being paralyzed for life. One moment he and his family were happy, enjoying a football game, and the next their whole lives have changed. It made me think. Tragedy can strike at any moment for any of us. I hate to think that way, but it is the truth.
Our lives are so busy and sometimes it seems like we live day to day and don't stop to think about how much we treasure the people around us. When you finish reading this, hug your kids; hug your husband or whoever it is that you love. Tell them you love them everyday, because you never you never know what the next day may bring.
God Bless!

Happy Birthday Levi

Do you see that face??? How can such a cute thing be SO much trouble? We have had Levi for a month today. While he has brought a lot of joy to the girls, he has also brought a lot of headaches to me. Luckily, my mom is a dog trainer and is whipping him into shape. I've come to realize that puppies are a lot like babies: they eat, sleep, poop, keep you up all night and make a mess of your house. And when you are blessed enough for them to take an unexpected nap, you have to be quite not to wake them up. I am sure it will get better soon. But seriously, we love him. Most of us anyways.

First Blog

My cousin Danielle has had a blog page for a while now. I love checking her page, It gives me a chance to see all of my extended family and all the changes that are happening in their lives. So I am giving it a try. It's a good alternative to myspace, as teachers are not supposed to have myspace pages. I've had a lot of fun so far getting the page to look pretty.
